Outer Banks Pool Plaster Problems
Outer Banks Swimming Pool Plaster issues
This is a problem with the pool plaster blistering or delaminating. This problem occurs during the pool construction or repair phase. The concrete industry say the loss of a thin surface layer as a surface defect caused by “improper application and troweling”. They refer to it by many names including, surface flaking, buckling, blistering, scaling, or delaminating.
This defect is usually caused by improper surface preparation to create a good bond with the new material. It may start to show itself within a month or two or several years later when the pool is drained and the plaster dries out.
Delaminated areas may be sanded and patched if small, but large delaminated areas may require the swimming pool to be re plastered.
